How To Get Verified On Google Business Profile

For a Google Business Profile (GBP) video verification, the goal is simple: prove to Google that the business is real, operates where you claim it does, and that you are authorized to manage it.

The biggest reason profiles fail verification is that the video doesn’t clearly establish all three of those things.

Before You Start

Make sure the business information is 100% accurate

  • Business name exactly matches signage, licensing, and website.
  • The address is the actual operating location.

Have the following prepared:

1) Branded Vehicle

Show:

  • Company truck/trailer
  • Logo on vehicle
  • License plate

2) Equipment

Show tools used to perform the work:

  • Roofing tools
  • Plumbing equipment
  • HVAC gauges
  • Landscaping equipment
  • Home services tools
  • Etc.

3) Business Documentation

Show:

  • Business cards
  • Branded invoices
  • Insurance certificate
  • Contractor license
  • Utility bill (if available)

4) Proof of Management

Show yourself:

  • Opening company CRM
  • Logging into company email
  • Accessing scheduling software
  • Accessing company website backend

Video Best Practices

✅ Record in one continuous take

✅ Good lighting

✅ Stable camera movement

✅ Speak while recording

Example:

“This is [Insert Company Name Here]. We are located at [Insert Full Business Address Here]. Here is our office signage (show signage). Here is our company vehicle (show vehicle). Here is our workspace (show working area). Here are our business cards and insurance documents (show documents). Here is our CRM dashboard showing active customers (show proof of customers).”

✅ Keep it under 5 minutes.

✅ Have strong cell service or Wi-Fi before uploading.

The #1 Tip

Start the video outside showing the address and signage, then move inside without stopping the recording. Most failed verifications happen because Google can’t confidently connect the physical location to the business.

For home service clients, I usually recommend creating a checklist before recording so you hit:

  1. Address/location proof
  2. Business existence proof
  3. Management/ownership proof

You may not get accepted your first time, but keep trying!  It is valuable to have an address in GBP instead of a Service Area .
